I've got a piece of paper; But it's Empty Wednesday, May 31, 2006
Today is Dumplings' Festival! I just realised that today is my birthday on the Lunar Calendar! 5 May Lunar. Haha. I am so toot. I did not even know when my own birthday (Chinese! [5 more days to the English one! Yay!]) is. Sheesh. Usually, people will eat a whole lot of mian xian or/and hong ji dan (red eggs). What about me? It falls on this special day: Dumplings' Festival! You did not expect me to est dumplings + red aggs + mian xian, right? I do not want to grow fat in one day, alright! Of course, because it is supposed to be special. My mother let me eat dumplings in place of those red eggs and mian xian for my Chinese Brithday every year! Yay. So unique, huh? Haha. Not really. But I think it is quite cool. I love the gee zangs. My mum said she cannot remember the Chinese name of that particular type of dumpling and that it of course does not have an English name. Aiyo. Then I will just have to describe it, if you trust my descriptive skills. Heh heh. Gee zang is almost tasteless and is smaller than normal ba zangs. They have a bit of colouring because a different type of rice is used to make is. I cannot remember the colour. I am so colourblind when it comes to food. Sigh. To eat it, we have to do it with sugar, or any sweet powdery (!!? Help me find a better adjective, will you? I am lost for these words.) stuff. I love to eat it with coconut sweetener, or is this what it is called? Sorry. I am very dumb at these food names. All I know when I see food that I like is to eat it. I do not really ponder over the names. Gluttonx. ", Oh yeah, I think my Mum's Chinese Birthday and English Birthday are more cool, alright! They are normally two consecutive days or the same day. So cool, right? Her Chinese Birthday is also Dong Zhi (I am so sorry. I cannot remember the English Name for it. I cannot seem to find the correct words all the time when I need them. I do not know what is wrong with me but I still cannot figure out either. Too bad. I think I will just leave that problem lying around first. Let us ignore that first.) Do you guys know what is Dong Zhi? I hope so. Everyone goes for Tang Yuan on that day. We do likewise, DUH! Such a Chinese Family marhx. We cannot help it. Do not ask me why. I do not know either. So these sweet sweet Tang Yuans replaced the red eggs and mian xian too. Haha. Ooh man. I so loved those Tang Yuans. Do not remind me of them again. I am starting to think of food again. And I had just finished my supper. Sighx. So, only on my father's Chinese Birthday do we eat red eggs and mian xian. We cannot expect him to eat ALONE on his Birthday, right? That will be so lonely and pathetic. So, we only need to eat those things once in a year and they will of course taste heavenly. Why do food that we have not taken for a long time always taste so good? I do not understand. Is that what "Distance makes the heart grow fonder"? Oh man. What the hell am I talking about? That is about love. Sheesh. I think I am blabbering nonsense at the mention of food. I am such a Glutton. Seriously, I think I really eat excessively. xinying ploughed through her empty list at 10:12 pm
