Haha. I am going through some German proverbs on Wikiquote now. It's so fun.

A few caught my interest:

Deutsche Sprache, schwere Sprache.
- Literal: "German language, difficult language."
- Meaning: "German language is hard to learn."
- Used when someone has just made an embarrassing German grammar mistake.
Haha. Quite true. The grammar parts we learnt this year are freaking confusing.

(Zusammen oder mit XY) Durch Dick und Dünn gehen.
- Translation: "To go through thick an thin (together or with XY)."
- Meaning: "To stay together no matter what comes."
- Equivalent: "They travelled through thick and thin."
Nothing special. But why XY? Is that me? LOL. (x

"Morgen, morgen, nur nicht heute, sagen alle faulen Leute."
- Translation: "Tomorrow, tomorrow, not today, that's what all the lazy people say."
- "Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today."
Gosh. This sounds like a poem!!! With such good rhythm. So nice!

Ohne Knete keine Fete
- Lit.: "No kneading, no party."
- "No money, no fun."
Ooh.... How saddening. Broke. ):

Das kommt mir Spanisch vor.
- "It seems spanish to me"
- English Equivalent: It's all greek to me
Haha. Greek is foreign to the english and it's spanish to the germans?? LOL.

There's no German proverbs starting with X nor Y? Heh. That's my name again. XY!
