*gasp* my backlog is dragging... stretching into some faraway land. oh and we heard one of the professors use the word "backlog" today, so it isn't as unofficial as we thought it was. i feel so sophisticated now that a professor had used one of my blog words LOL (: day 2! i shall skip breakfast because it really wasn't very appetising, spare for the egg omelette. i kind of liked the way the ham and cheese were wrapped and cooked within the egg. the melted cheese was close to heavenly amongst its tasteless counterparts, yummy! d: fast forward towards sunway lagoon! as the unofficial tour guide of our mini tour troupe (which is made up of only three musketeers: me, mum and dad), i had a hard time planning out the second day, because it's difficult to estimate the amount of time we're going to spend at this lovely place that lay ahead of us. from the looks of it, there may not even be sufficient time for me to try out all the games before the theme park closes at 6pm. but at the back of my head, i know there's a high possibility we're going to end really early, because thrilling games are just not my parents' cup of tea and they're bound to want to leave before half-time :x maybe i should come again with more strong-hearted friends next time HAHA (: our (or my, since only i played :/) first game: tomahawk showed it all. mum didn't dare and i could understand because she's terrified of heights. one who trembles on a ferris wheel, i'm not going to force her onto a fast-paced one that will send her dangling upside-down! it's a terrible thing to do. so no way (: what shocked me was that dad seemed to shudder at the mention of the tomahawk, and likewise with other thrillers to come. this is daddy. where did the daredevil of dad go to? is it true that courage, or simply a taste or flair for adventure decreases exponentially with age? it's one question that i cannot answer. there was this girl (i forgot her name ><). she came with a huge group but none of the elders dared go on the tomahawk with her either. and she's really nice, and it's just so coincidental that it turned out that we were of the same age and had the same interests (i mean the taste for thrill). so we made a deal to get swung upside-down together (((: but then the station master requested to have at least 4 people on that 360-degree swing, before he can set up a ride for us. dang. fortunately, her father and auntie stepped forward for her sake. so cool right? i wished my parents could do that. it still seems a little too cowardly for dad to chicken out. at least he should have told me about his new thriller-phobia and we'd've scrapped this whole journey to the lagoon. the idea of spending a whole afternoon on ferris wheels and merry-go-rounds itself was just driving me bonkers. alright, never mind what happened just now, because the best part was when we tried to make the best out of it, despite divergent interests (: the 360-degree pirate ship was down due to "inclement weather" (LOL) to my parents' relief. but i managed to persuade dad to take the less-than-scary roller coaster with me in the end! well, it needn't be scary, we can create the scary by ourselves... by screaming! :DD oh there was this caucasian at the front seat (we were right behind him, cos dad was afraid to be right in front). he was really jubilant and an expert at scaring people. the coaster was climbing at crawling pace. then as it neared the peak, he turned around and screamed, so my dad and i and many others behind us screamed as well, thinking that we're going to plunge that second. then it turned out that he was just scaring us, and it was a good way ahead before we really sank! after that, he kept rallying us to raise both hands and scream HAHAHA so fun! :D it scared dad though, which made it all the more enjoyable (not to see him scared, of course. but the effect was good) (: then we had the normal games. flying fox wasn't that scary, as we had pictured it, except for the fact that we had to land, straighten up and try to dislodge ourselves from the ropes on top of a wobbly flight of stairs in the shallow pool. that was a huge test of sense of balance (which i doubt i've any x)). nevertheless, it was exhilarating gliding over the huge swimming pool and seeing people stare up as you zoom over their heads :D we stood in line for a long time, waiting for our turn to go on a mini jungle trail on a mini three-wheeled bike. dad was rather impatient because mum didn't want to join and he didn't want to keep her waiting. the fact that some people were cutting queue didn't help. and of course, it's pretty much a waste of time waiting as people were taught how to ride the bike, since daddy is an expert in motorbikes (: it was our turn. something happened and this really caught me off guard. i was rather clumsy at this, and was fumbling to press the accelerator as lightly as possible so that i won't zoom ahead without warning all the time. just as i was trying to figure out how i can travel more smoothly, there was a huge bam. i turned back and saw that someone had rammed into the metal gate. and to my horror, it was dad. :O he wasn't hurt, thank god. but i couldn't fathom why the bike seemed to be acting against his will. slowly, i got the hang of it, though the bike remained a little jerky, lurching forward when i pressed too hard occasionally. but dad, the hero who had conquered and breezed over highways in bikes of all shapes and sizes, was having problems with the tiny three-wheeler. he kept banging into the kerb of the pavements and, once, almost toppled over from the impact :/ we overheard the instructor telling him that he needed to erase all memory of past biking experiences to be able to ride this properly, but that didn't seem to work. so he had to travel haphazardly through the paved roads and wait outside while we braved the muddy sloped in the light forest. mum, who was sitting near the starting point, had witnessed the whole saga and was laughing her head off and making fun of dad after that. LOL (: dad was utterly embarrassed and it wasn't very wise to aggravate it but it was funny, nonetheless :D we left the place for lunch after, say, 4 hours? it was short but we'd played our share and it was fun! :D i was positively sunburnt (it's not that bad, having been near sunburn stage quite often preceding the trip. so i felt fine :)). well, mum didn't participate much, but she was definitely happy enough watching us do funny moves and contented to see that we've enjoyed ourselves :D follow-up: taxi scam. tomorrow (: xinying ploughed through her empty list at 12:01 am
