i've been using the word bamboozled rather frequently these few days. well, maybe cos i'm easily scammed and people like to scam me. why do people bully me? :x but i'm a scammer whenever i can too. so we're quits heh! :d anyway, bamboozle is a vast improvement from the classic "i feel cheated" phrase. and guess what, people now look at me with that kind of bamboozled face right after i said that word! look at just how apt it is, hahaha! at least i get to get back at the perpetrator for a bit! (till they find out the meaning :)) alright, i'm kind of here to train my typing skills again. the last few posts have been completed at lightning speed. well, you don't have to be a lightning thief to be capable of lightning speed (ok lame :P). so where did i stop? ahh mystery games! hmmm mystery games were basically the same as last year's, with just a few modifications. the difference is probably that this year, we're the seniors and we're supposed to guide them and give them encouragement. surely makes you feel like a senior after the orientation. no more "i'm going to be c2?!!" and give a D: face when the realisation set in last december. :) ooh, i must say that igroup 6 junior is really pro. we proceeded at an amazing rate. like how fast? we finished extinguishing the candles with water guns (the seniors including me tried to cheat by blowing the candles out with our mouths at the side :P) when the opposing group just started shooting. but we played the next game fairly and squarely! because we were so efficient and finished our first game so early, we had a good long wait outside the interact room for the second game: the obstacle course. but before that, zihui and teck seng were discussing something very sneakily. i dunno what, cos they were so secretively about it. then she finally persuaded teck seng to tell her some secret or whatnots. so they hid behind the cupboard to talk. like o.O looks freaking scandalous from our point of view. and if you think sick like some of the juniors, you know what you can be thinking of! :x oh and because we had so much time, we started fiddling with the coded lock that we're supposed to unlock. hmm, there're 3 numbers to the lock, as usual and we'll get 1 number from each from the three games. we got the number 0 from the first game. and in our free time, we started trying all combinations with a 0 in it. (completely ignoring the advice "not to hack" the lock. haha heck la :p) and we managed to unlock it!! like WOW. hahaha kudos to phuong ha :) so how did we win the second game fairly? well, we sent the artsy girl second, so she was at the end of the line, arranging the ice cream sticks into the desired pattern early in the race. i think we finished the diagram when the 5th person was in the middle of the obstacle course (we need to make sure all 10 went through it!) and the other group haven't even touched their diagram and they're only on their 3rd participant! so it's an obvious win! yayy! and then, the foam party! (: i think i scrubbed off a hell lot of hair. but who cares? everyone did and everyone did it for the fun! :D foam party ftw!! then... concert! i'm in concert comm. initially i was appalled that we have to blow all the balloons to decorate lt1. cos 1. i've no stamina, so i really doubt i'll be of much help in blowing balloons. 2. i don't know how to tie balloons :x so double handicap. zen me ban? but after eugene and teck seng taught us how to tie and after a few balloons, i kind of got the hang of it. :) though i never really learnt how to tie 2 or even 4 balloons together. my hands were too burnt out to try. ahh, one thing at a time ba :) eugene and teck seng bullied me, kept throwing balloons at me x( oh after we finished blowing the balloons, we found that the balloons are in huge excess :x waste our efforts! cannot! so we ended up throwing 4 balloon masses up in the air and started playing balloon fight! :DD so fun! hahaha, a little childish but childhood games like these are especially fun. thanks to xinfang for rekindling these experiences. she was the first to throw one mass into the air and called all of us (actually only me, phuong ha and eugene) to play. after a while, we realised we were playing a fool right in front of mrs ho, but we didn't care. haha! a moment of boldness :p after we got tired of it and the juniors started streaming back into the lt, we had to stop this nonsense but we didn't want to let these balloons go to waste. so we pasted the balloons together to form a really large flower. it looked really cool standing in front of whiteboard, and we started camwhoring with it :D concert by the juniors was pretty entertaining, partly because the context was clear and instructions were much more specific and directive. what did we have last year? the seniors just told us to perform either a skit, a dance or a song. the theme was interact. isn't that anything under the sun? -.- this year, the concert comm learnt to be smarter :) (self-praise lols) we showed them snippets of videos and attached one group to each video. what is their task? to enact a skit that continues the story in the video (: cool eh? igroup 6 put up a really good horror show. i still remember it and get jitters sometimes. the longhaired ghost is a little too real D: haha means they succeeded :) right that concludes interact orientation... 1 week and 2 days ago? lols, i'm really lag at updating, sorry! xinying ploughed through her empty list at 9:48 pm

if you ask me whether blogging in the long-term is born out of duty and obligation, or simply a desire to share and pour out all your ups and downs in life, i'd say it's on a varying scale between both. well, i'm blogging today out of a sense of guilt. well, that's an exaggeration, more like a nagging feeling because i said i'd continue my recount on interact orientation but i didn't. but also, i wanna get away from the prospect of mugging. (it's h3 test 1 tmr, and i just found past year test papers on the e-portal. sighhh. means late night today and abandon my plans to do a bit of math. :x) oh well. nonetheless, i'm glad to be communicating with whoever's reading (: alright, time to rewind and talk about saturday. "initialising..." haha, one of the messages i dread to see on my phone when i first turn it on and press the phonebook or the messages button. laggy phones are one of my touchy points, just like my laggy brain now :x --- after ice breakers, we had mass games! first up was dua jia ball. it spelt F-U-N (: basically the netball court was divided into 6 parts and each igroup (there are 6 :)) has to guard their own space. should one dua jia ball land or bounce (just touch the ground!) in your territory, you gain one point. and the team with the least points wins! so yea, objective is to keep the ball out. it was really funny how we will feverishly attack one or two igroups, then realise that the teams on the other end of the court are idly and watching a "good" show, gloating over the victims' misfortune (well, me included in the gloating :p). well, 鹬蚌相争,渔翁得利。that's when they switch target and all chiong to attack these 旁观者. (: it's damn funny, how they shouted: "cherng yew de, cherng yew de!" then everyone runs towards our little corner. it's really pretty scary because there are three dua jia balls in total. imagine being attacked on three ends at the same time. a bit difficult to fend off right? poor juniors. but the suffering isn't for good, of course. it won't be too long before they change their minds and go for another team. oh of course, we didn't play the sitting duck. we tried some "underhand" methods to distract them. like "wth (in a very pissed tone) we got 21 points already? (when we only have 5 :p) ", then zihui comes back and say "igroup 4 only has 4 points leh X(" hahaha so cute. and all the other groups are duped to go after igroup 4 instead. hahaha see how unscrupulous igroup 6 can get :p oh there was this once where we screamed: "attack deddy's!" then somehow, the ball holders just turned around and through balls into bingze's. we literally watched him go white and said "that's mine!!" in a panicky voice. hahahaha! :p oh we were being pretty violent, especially when we neared the construction site (well, the netball court is right beside the construction site!), some people hit especially hard and the dua jia ball just phewwwww~~ flew into the construction site. a few times some more! lucky there were construction workers inside that could bounce the ball out for us. (: the junior guys were actually quite enthu, they were basically doing most of the defending for the group, which is good, cos they appeared to be much quieter than the girls on the whole (: tower defence! junior igroup 6 ftw! they built the tower around their pail so well and huddled around it so tightly that almost no water got collected in the pail! well, as i mentioned in the previous post, we took so much effort to drill houses into the cardboards. i think kenneth even poked holes into the gabbage bags that we wanted to give the juniors. we were thinking that we're so clever. yes, they can piece and patch cardboard pieces together with masking tape. but the holes will essentially make all these material useless. so they'll need to shield the pail with their bodies. so they'll get wet! logical, isn't it? and guess what! the juniors used the masking tape to seal up the holes instead. seriously, one mountain higher than another x) kudos people! oh i took a lot of unglam photographs using fifi's camera. she hasn't uploaded. but even if she does, i shan't post here. not inviting trouble! :d oh yea, fifi nearly lost her phone. i was carrying her skirt (passed to me from cherng yew) to the banner painting area from the netball court. then when we reached the amphitheatre and said that it's not her skirt. i was like o.O plus there was no phone inside, which double-confirmed her suspicions (but it's really her skirt!!) after we searched high and low, retracing the route back to the netball court, with me calling her phone a million times (but it's on silent mode, i think -.-), we finally found it in the field next to netball court. after that, we deduced that it was cherng yew who took the skirt up and waved it around asking "who's skirt is this?" and the phone just pop, dropped out. LOL. cherng yew -.- and lucky fifi! like phew, we literally heaved a sigh of relief! ok time to do my past year papers before i conk out. i need to retain some grey matter for tomorrow as well (quote the lecturer. lol :)) xinying ploughed through her empty list at 10:00 pm

have i used that title before? never mind. i'll know when i try to publish. or will i never know, since it'll just be saved under a different date? oh whatever. anyway heartprints is the theme of interact 09/10. go heartprints (: interact orientation. i thought the day begun in a pretty amusing way. i was headed for the school gate in a part-daydream. well, it was my umpteenth day waking up so early (with that, i mean before 6.30am. coupled with cny, i think this trend continued for around two weeks without fail? i'm surprised i didn't just conk out on the pavement or something. exaggeration intended :)). anyway, there were this band of three girls in front of me, in pe shirts? i think. it was 7am and one of them asked me at the gate whether i was going for interact orientation (i was wearing the bloodred interact tee -.-). so of course the answer was aye. we just trudged on like that, then nearing LT1, they turned around and queried about when it's going to start. and i said 8am. blimey, they were earlier than the seniors! LOLs to enthu juniors (: we sat in the LT for really long (the seniors, i mean) before the briefing started. phuong ha even had time to be 30 min late (i was 15min late, not very much better :p). but well, she had a tummy upset, so can't blame her. and in any case, it's norm for interact meetings to run on delays. oh yea which reminds me that i forgot to ask whether she's better now? ah, i'm such a lousy friend :x after running around buying prizes that i bought wrongly yesterday, phuong ha and i went to help out cutting up (more like messing around) with the cardboards for tower defence. this is because we were tearing them up in such irregularly ugly shapes, i think we completely destroyed them. then kenneth stabbed (literally!) holes into the shreds. he did it with such vigour, he looked like he was ready to murder people. pretty scary. but i guess it's a good way to destress. i tried to do the same but apparently, i don't have that strength. so failz. cries :'( other guys also tried but they don't look as frightening as kenneth was. he really looked like he lost control and may stab you by accident if you're too near! phuong ha kept exclaiming "my leg!" or "my hand!" when he seemed to get too near. well, he's too engrossed hahaha. :p j1 arrival! the first game was sardines: the commserve directors have to hide within the school compound and let our little juniors find them. this part was pretty funny. cherng yew, our beloved igroup 6 director, went to hide in the basketball court without his whacko stick. so he emergency-called us for it. but we searched high and low within the LT, up at the interact room, even at the cardboard mutilation area. no whacko stick. so we ended up koping newspaper from the mystery comm for a make-shift whacko stick. he deserves to be whacked mann. :p on our way to the basketball court, we met many juniors who were searching for their commserve directors (obviously :)). then when we were in the car park, basketball court in view, 2 girls (i think their names were wen yi and... D:) approached us to ask for hints. well, we weren't supposed to give any, but we asked for their igroup out of curiosity. and they said igroup 6! what coincidence! now what? we can't tell them anything, nor can we continue walking because that will give our director's location away immediately. dilemma D: just at that moment, wen yi's friend called her and told her that they've found th edirector at the basketball court. wow so efficient o.O i think they actually strategised and decided to split up LOL! and wen yi (i think), her eyes lit up with such enthusiasm. it's pretty funny. and heartening to know that our high-ness as an igroup will be inherited. hopefully it lasts :D icebreakers were the normal ones. whacko, everyone tried to sabo cherng yew. what "abigail, cherng yew, wen yi, cherng yew, jo, cherng yew, phuong ha, cherng yew, ..." haha never-ending, until he gives up and takes the stick. naughty seniors + juniors! "honey i love you" was fun :d cedric was particularly funny when he tried to 撒娇 in a very girly way (though all of them say he's already like that normally. oops :p). last but not least, our favourite 马桶 or tempo game (: cherng yew is 马桶 of the year again HAHA! funny guy! zihui didn't managed to win a succession as emperor :x oh i wasn't 马桶, not even once, for the whole time! whoots. three cheers to me :p end of icebreakers. wah i'm really reluctant to let this spill over to tomorrow, because i've a feeling such serial dramas can last forever. i'll probably only finish on interact orientation on sunday? haha! then next post that comes after that will be on the coming saturday? LOL! this is badd. i need to end it fast. but that's it for now! (: xinying ploughed through her empty list at 11:16 pm

it's funny how when you've all the time in the world to blog, you don't feel like doing so. i guess it's a kind of inertia that exists within all human minds. that inertia is not only confined within physical objects. but in human mentality as well. like how when we sleep too much, we still feel sleepy, because we want to continue sleeping. when we play too much, we feel dazed and cannot concentrate on work because we want to continue playing. it seems like a natural instinct for us to continue whatever we're doing at hand. and that leads to many compulsive behaviours that we see very often nowadays. what compulsive eating (or binging), shopaholic behaviour, repeated thefts and the ever-so-hot pathological gambling (cos of the opening of the casinos) (: but of course, no one gets too addicted to working. well, except the workaholics (which is why they're called work-a-holics (: but then again, all we need is that push, that motivation to get us into another state of inertia. which is why i went to do a note before coming back to blogger. so i'm in a typing mode now. friday. i didn't have to join in the rush hour to get to school. instead, ying hui and i was put in charge of guiding the old folks of sin ming onto a chartered bus and taking that bus to school with them. it was kinda unfair to her. cos sembawang isn't anywhere near sin ming, really. so the distance she has to cover in the morning required her to wake up much earlier than usual :x but since none of the i-group members stayed anywhere nearer than sembawang (except me, of course), we didn't really have a choice. *shrugs* which is the reason she was late still (though she woke up really early) cos the rush hour jam is no joke. so i was solo-ing all the guiding of the elderly on to the bus. some of the older uncles cheekily asked why they weren't invited. i told them to register to join the group next time. old folks can be really jovial sometimes (: it doesn't pay to be grumpy in your twilight years, really. like how my grandma is now. aw :x the leader of the group seemed to be quarrelling with the lady in-charge from the organisation that organises them together. confusing? alright, hc interact collaborates with lion befrienders to bring joy to the folks of sin ming (: anyway, when yinghui arrived, we were ready to leave sin ming and off we went :D to school! arrival at the tennis courts just as large hordes of students were departing from the terraces after flag-raising. we had to wait a very long time for all the students to clear out before letting the elderly disembark from the bus because we didn't want them to go missing or get injured in the crowds. anyway, this was the first time i actually got a measure of the breadth of the number of students we have. the 2000-strong that throngs our narrow corridors every monday to friday. wow. then the other interactors arrived to help and guide the elderly to the central plaza for the show. haha, we were supposed to mingle with the elderly but we didn't really do so in the end during the performances. it's weird how we can be shy, because interactors are usually really hyper and great at interacting (which was why we joined in the first place :)). anyway the performance was great. lion dance was a little feeble but the rest were pretty entertaining. the class guys at the back row were amusing. like the moment i looked at russell (i think only him and ryan were there at the moment), he started calling out loud for yifei. like wth! haha (: then during chinese dance performance, phuong ha and i just started talking about shaun and he just appeared beside us (to get a closer look on the dance :)) then to return to his seat immediately after it ended. LOL. looks like these kind of things never fails to gan a high profile in jc. hmmm. oh the drums performance (dunno performance number what, but it's the last performance we watched before guiding the old folks into fishtank). they were damn pro and cool! especially this girl who was dressed in athena shirt. her gestures looked so professional. but what i liked best is that all of them were enjoying their own performance. that's all you ask for from a performer don't you? if the performer doesn't enjoy what he's doing, how could you, as his audience? (: kudos to chinese orchestra! at the fish tank, there was a lot of lag time. we found out that the old folks liked the performances a lot. and they were marvelling at the number of girls that performed so well and so much better than the guys. haha, well most of the old folks present are female. so yea, i guess they're really heartened by the increasing gender equality (that they didn't get to enjoy when they were younger) now (: so cute, how some of them were really excited over what they watched. so yea, you can be cute at any age. so true. song session! we had jordan the joker as emcee, so you can imagine how the whole session was like. super lame. but his hokkien was good, so the old folks were really entertained. i thought he sounded like those artistes that we see bringing old folks on holiday and acting as their tourguides on tv. i think the show was called 我的导游是明星and it had many many sequels. yea he sounded like the bigshot tourguides (: there was these few times the group leader (an old auntie. she's really enthu, which is why she's always leading the group) stood up and shook her butt alongside with him. cherng yew failed to capture that not once, but all the times. lousy photographer, missing at the most crucial moments. :x anyway, we had 2 really brave souls, one is the enthu auntie, the other an uncle who could sing really well. both of them stood up to sing in front of the whole group one after another. like wow, even i would need to think twice (given my thick skin) before i'm willing to do that. and surely not with my less-than-existent voice now. the uncle didn't sing as well on friday, i think he was having a bad throat day too, like me. aww :x bingo game. we planned 3 for the day, just like the sin ming visit during the december hols. but that in december hols took a really long time because the elderly found it really taxing to fill in the bingo boxes by themselves. so this time, to save time, we had the boxes filled n by interators beforehand. and the games started immediately! jordan and his lame jokes come into play again. what "2nd number is 2 doesn't mean that the 3rd number will be 3" like duhh. and then deddy tried to play a joke on him. like revenge? (: he wanted the number 18 so that the old lady he was taking care of could win the bingo game. scammed jordan when jordan asked him "what number (that's being picked out from the cup now)?" by telling him "18 (full stop)". the number hasn't even been picked!! and only telling him so when he announced "EIGHTEEN" to the whole group 3 times. LOL! the elderly got really confused. so he randomly picked a number and announced that it's 18 to make up for the mess after that. hahaha~ lols to interactors :d harmoc performance and then the match-two game. it was really funny how we were trying to give hints. trying out all sorts of methods. like whispering the correct number softly to just blatantly shouting it out loud. there was this once when jordan keeps trying to blow the cover of number 8 and saying "woah the wind is so strong!" (there's obviously no wind in fishtank -.-), because that is the correct answer but the uncle was adamant on choosing number 15. then cherng yew just blatantly lifted the flap of number 8 halfway and exclaimed "OMG i saw a bit already", then the uncle chose 8. hahahaha! :DDD the next turn, the enthu auntie got her chance and she just peeked at the pictures behind the numbers right in front of us. haha she learns fast! so funny. :D i think they really enjoyed themselves on friday, and so did we :D 捞鱼生 twice! once with the old folks and once with the class. the class guys were really violent. i barely lao-ed once and there was this stack of food cascading onto me. wth. waste food :x anyway, i heard we earned 74 dollars from street sales. that's a dollar profit from everyone present (though i didn't contribute :x). kudos to everyone anyway!! :DD yayy! oh noes the new year show has long started. i'd better hurry! this post is too looooong! ok, fac dance was great. i think all the facs were good this year, like they were pretty much on par, unless the cast difference in strength that we showed last year :x anyway theywere pretty unfair to artemis cos they practically had not time to get into their lines and the music started. so it looked really messy from the bird's eyeview. oh well. athena had the most time, even had time to cheer. ahhhh... HOOT! :DDD haha love athena! though i was wearing a red interact shirt yesterday. oh yea that reminds me, ryan and russell were dancing the athena fac dance in red shirts lol. so prominent in that green crowd. wan chu's classic comment: "nvm, ares likes our dance" so cute :p i love ares's dance! ahhh. it's damn nice. they deserved to win la :D go ares. class outing!! haha very normal journey to cathay when the class kept trying to squeeze me and yifei together lol! funny people. patrick especially tried to squeeze on the bus. i didn't know he's so cheeky. never even appeared a wee bit playful during pw. i think relationship topics makes people go crazy. so now it's not money but relationships that make the world go round. :o oh vanessa, me, elizabeth, bee and ly were playing the buzz game, cos the waiting time was too long and we were really bored. i keep getting to say buzz somehow (i think it's got to do with the number of people playing :)) so i had an easier time. ly and vanessa were especially funny. ly kept mixing up the numbers and pausing, slowly contemplating whether she needs to buzz. LOL (: then there was once when bee said 189 and vanessa followed with "thanks" (she was talking to ly) and we were like "there's such a number" hahaha~ (: ooh we actually managed to get to 200, i think. i just realised. omg how much time did we spend waiting for the bus! but we were really lucky cos just when we decided and started off walking to the high school bus stop, an empty 174 stopped right in front of us. in a way, it was the decision to walk to the other bus stop that positioned us in such a favourable position. so yayys :d ben and jerry's! haha the merlionster still exist! i last ate it ages ago. anyway the eight scoops that we got for 41.70 was freaking small and was finished in no time. daylight robbery la, but we're lucky it's not our money and it's really nice. hail strawberry cheesecake! :D then we went up the cinema and stood debating for a very long time whether to watch a movie or not. somehow, the guys were adamant on watching lightning thief that none of the girls wanted to. i won't mind any other show like 14 blades, big little soldier or valentine's day. i would really love to watch imaginarium but the nearest venue is bugis. sigh, major clash in tastes :x then we felt really bad for abandoning the guys again. it's like guys outing all over again. but the guys kept denying that they are pissed at all. dewei especially looked sian. yit khai gave his really qian bian face that made us feel that he's in complete denial when he proclaimed that he's not pissed that all the girls are leaving. lols after that we walked around to gossip somemore *censored* 313 @ somerset with bee, linying and yifei. the mrt was unexpectedly crowded at 4+. we waited for 4 (or 5?) trains before we finally squeezed to the front and into the train successfully. we were totally packed like sardines, it was difficult to even try to get out at somerset. worse still, linying and beehoon couldn't squeeze into the same train so we waited at somerset for them to come in the next train. (: then comes the epic part, we went straight for a hello kitty shop (just imagine yifei's face. hahahaha~) they sell very many pink stuff. damn cute (: and got hello kitty mahjong too! for the translucent gold designs like the LV tiles we saw at bridge chalet too. so cool but it costs a bomb of course. so yea, nice to see, not nice to buy. aww. dinner at kfc! beehoon entertained us with lame jokes, stories and riddles all the way. my brain don't hav the capacity to remember jokes sadly. :x i don't really remember any other than the one and only one i told them. ok let me recall: oh yes, there's the A and C joke. the fatty joke, etc. ok not bad, i still remember 4 or 5 :D but like how bee need to take a lot of effort to recall before telling us the jokes. i guess we're still normal. haha, really marvel at people who can just recite jokes offhand. they must treat telling jokes as a second life ba. oh yea, like how bee says chengyan will just come up to her during chem lab (halfway through her experiment) and start telling jokes. lol! so random, and can just abandon your work abruptly for this kind of randomness. imba true jokers we have in class :p hahahaha! haven't laughed so much altogether in ages, really laughed a hell lot today, from interact event to 313. whoots! such fun friends :D xinying ploughed through her empty list at 11:35 pm

oh gosh, now is really not the time to fall ill. can really feel the heat coming over me. i guess shuffling between extremely hot and cold environments just wasn't that healthy a thing to do. but we don't have a choice. the school admin seems to be grossly overestimating our tolerance to cold. the temperatures at the audi range from cold to extremely cold D: oh well, maybe i was just in too much hassle today. school, centad, interact, bridge, shopping, study econs, pack up my room and now blog (sort of "outsourced" the task to buy a cake for tmr. because 1. i've got too much on my hands. 2. don't really want to have the cake squashed when i try to squeeze up the bus tmr. well, it's people's bdays. won't be nice to serve up a damaged cake :x hopefully, i'll be able to find a slot without so many origin-unknown passengers and safely transport the cake for next month! *keeping my fingers crossed*) i'm not done with econs, but my brain has stopped functioning, so i think i should just call it a day. shall think up something tomorrow. i always do :p alright, that's it for now. i should go hibernate or i might just conk out during the 1.5 hour econs marathon tmr. have an early night too, dudes (: xinying ploughed through her empty list at 10:51 pm

i had the most normal commserve today. solo-ed the whole thing, thinking that tze liang may come and take over in a while, only to realise for 2 hours that he's a scholar too and probably has amc today. LOL, very clever of me. and then the couple on duty obviously ponned (or went to "romantic", as coined by the nosey kids HAHA) anyway, children these days can be scarily informed or misinformed, whichever way you want to see it. the kids i was handling during "silent reading" (well, the kids weren't silent at all, really. they were making such a ruckus. it's a wonder whether they are even reading at all.). so these 2 girls and ronald were browsing through this comic with rather explicit drawings and giggling like maniacs over it. i guess more conservative people will be appalled at what the children are being exposed to. but what i'm concerned about is not that they actually got hold of such a book. these books are abundant anyway, i'm not surprised if one of them had simply grabbed it from their parents' studies or something. what caught my attention is actually the way they kept making references to sexual stuff like it was part of everyday life. then they imitate the "sexy" actions in the book and try to get their peers to do the same. D: and mind you, they are 8, 9 and 10 years old? LOL. then the very normal little sean proclaimed, in a separate chat today, that when he becomes rich next time, he won't donate. woww, where's all the innocence gone to? this is really saddening :x ok off with the weird, shocking or difficult to stomach news. the rest of the commserve hours were less than normal too. i guess the kids were just especially high because of a lack of adults supervising them. look, there were only me, a young teacher, a senior teacher, the teatime auntie and the head supervisor. a tad half of the normal numbers. so yea, the kiddos probably just went bonkers at their newfound freedom. as little sean cleverly coined it, "i'm always fighting for freedom. maybe next time don't need anymore." but now, they're grabbing and enjoying little snippets of this future freedom lol (: and so, we were really shorthanded. everyone had at least 3 kids yelling for them for help in schoolwork at a go. it wasn't easy shuffling round and round to teach them each for a short while, cos you're so busy, you really wonder whether they understood what you said but there's no time dilly dallying at one spot for too long. poor kids :x i got dizzy after an hour of shuffling about. but then, it's tea time. so had time to get my drift back (: jiayee is getting really attached to me, i think. following me around everywhere in the center. we exchanged lots of lame jokes today lol :p and i realised i'm on quite good terms with almost everybody in the commserve. as in, on a personal basis. it isn't all because tze liang or phuong ha was around. so yea, i feel really happy today ((: oh yea, i take back my words that mrs lim poked fun at me about everything under the sun except the relationship. we just got the brunt of it today LOL. haha mrs lim is so funny. xinying ploughed through her empty list at 11:18 pm

i'm staring at a whole list of red and orange dots on my msn list now, and wondering what everyone is so busy about. or that "busy" was just a cool status to be on. well, i should be glad for a short break to fill up the gaps on my increasingly empty blog. poor thing, to have to live as an errata, isn't it? :x orientation campfire. it wasn't planned for me to stay on the campus for the campfire in the first place. my mind was in the whirl these few days, for fathomable reasons. and i could hardly orientate myself for the upcoming events (which reminds me that the past few welfare rep-in-charge duties had been slapped on our beloved ct rep, because i just wasn't paying much attention to them D:). it wasn't until janet slapped me on the shoulder on the bus on friday that i realised that the campfire was that night. oh gosh. but then again, the class had been so mummed up about any plans to crash the finale, it's no surprise how people can forget. then when ms gen tan asked who's staying back, the "YES" that resonated around the class was enough to make some of us go DD: even bee confirmed this afterwards. so i'm not the only blur one!! :D anyway, i was lucky enough to have my pe shirt (cos we had pe on that day). so it wasn't that bad. it's just a pity i didn't have my fac shirt. sorry athena *looks sorry* LOL :p shaun lum was funny, insisting on staying back despite a splitting headache. well, for obvious reasons that's inconvenient for us to express openly. but actions speak louder than words, you can see for yourselves (: dinner at golden rooster and then games! i can't keep track of how many teh bings i owe shaun now. is it 2? or 3? or 4? but amazingly, me and yifei's debt to each other remained at a dubious equilibrium. hmmmm (: met bee and vanessa, and we sang 我难过 (it's a really old song by 5566. i wonder if they're still together as a group, but who cares :p) in the central plaza. i think we were pretty loud. the councillors lining up to clear a path for the torch bearer probably thought we're a bunch of nutters. but again, who cares. it's campfire day :D it wasn't so much as a sense of de javu (that we've experienced the exact same thing the previous year). but it goes beyond having goosebumps when the scene of the four-coloured flames were dished out before our eyes again. as we peered over at the central plaza from the 2nd level and cheer for our white-clothed juniors, i can't help but feel sense of mission, that we're here to witness our juniors being sworn into full-fledged jc students like we had been last year. and that that feeling will get stronger the next year, the next next year and the many years to come, when we come back middle-aged or even older. it is this sense of seniority that we cannot rid ourselves of when we re-visit our alma maters upon graduation. but there is a child in everybody's heart (or maybe it's just me -.-), i suppose. when it's time to re-live what we had been through, we can really assume that role that we were playing those times ago. again, we stood amidst the crowds at the central plaza. again, we clapped our palms on a classmate's shoulder to play the human train and almost tripped a hundred times over. again, we sang our hearts out at the familiar college tunes. again, we danced en masse and girraffed around clumsily at the same time to get a better view of the dance ic's. again, i felt like j1. it was an unmistakeable feeling, but with less uncertainty and apprehension. it's like going back home, to where we belonged (: after the whole episode, we were all sorely drenched in sweat and honestly tired. it's marvellous how jiaqi could sustain after a whole day of dancing non-stop. D: amazing. can just kowtow to you mann. hannah looked really breathless. lol (: i'm amazed that i'm not that tired (though i haven't exercised in agesss.) but everyone was so high! so many stayed behind and jump-jump-jumped at "good good day~" with the juniors! i love that song :D it's a pity i had a curfew and couldn't join the juniors for supper. but oh well, there's always stj :D love hwa chong. love 7j (: --- asking god if he, could play it again~ xinying ploughed through her empty list at 2:56 pm
there isn't always a correlation between things, really.

i was researching on david hume during gp today. didn't take much interest in it initially (well, this is our 3rd time tunnel. and no one really takes it seriously under the kim regime, so i guess the apathy was passed on from the previous year.) but hume isn't a simple character that we so often wave about in our essays, as we did for his more well-known counterparts like kant and benjamin franklin. as a scottish philosopher, he had had a myriad of pretty well-formed ideas that shaped our world today. but what intrigued me was one of his less publicised theories: that of the problem of causation. when two events occur, people will tend to link them together, especially if one is able to draw some parallels between the two. be it location, time, personnel involved, or whatever, it's seems wired in our brains to dig out something to make a connection between these unrelated events. it's more like a need than a want. we just need to make that link to make us feel more at ease. it's weird but it's human nature. because i'm in jc, and i'm reaching home tired and grumpy (which i am from a lack of sleep under any circumstances), so jc friends are a bad influence. because this guy is not attached and we are wearing the same shirt (for cca purposes), therefore we're a couple (wth.). because i'm in a relationship and i'm taking A levels this year, so i'm going to chuck my studies down the drain. like hello? yes, it may seem second nature for us to make such links about people. i've to admit that i was guilty of that as well. but when you're involved, it appears to be more absurd than anything. and nothing offends us more deeply than a sweeping accusation slapped on your very character. so yea, think twice before you voice something out. it may be unintentional, but the effects maybe be scathing. (i should include this in my journal? HAHA) xinying ploughed through her empty list at 11:10 pm
it's like re-living the c1 year from a different perspective

year after year, as i review what i've been through for the past 12 months, it seems inevitable to relevate at how much one has grown. maybe we learn by experience. maybe we just need to learn the hard way. or maybe we never learned, but the word "experienced" just bestows us with a delusional sense of wisdom. whatever the case, it has helped to mould and shape us into what we are today. cynical or jaded (word borrowed from matthew), we're often hardened by what we've been through. the year's barely kicked off. still, "lost" isn't a word i'd really like to use. but it's by far the most appropriate i can come up with in my current state of mind. i try so hard to fight this sense of helplessness. but it keeps coming back to haunt me. during the course of c1, i've learnt to let go off so many things: friends that we just cannot find a common topic with (though we've been so close before, it's hard to take in how we've drifted apart so quickly and so easily), freedom that i've craved for as a kid, feelings that i find hard to grapple with, etc. the list goes on. but it never seems to be enough. the hand of god keeps nudging me, to let loose, to let go of more things. it tears me. it tears me apart to even think of choosing between my so treasured relationships. family, bf, my beloved friends. i love them all, and i'm not choosing between them. please don't force me to. xinying ploughed through her empty list at 10:46 pm
